Farmers' Markets

Went to my very first Ithaca Farmers' Market today!

Madison's farmers market was over-the-top wonderful, so Ithaca has some pretty big shoes to fill. Overall, it was a pretty good time, although short on the produce end of things. It's that time of year in the northeast, though, so I'm not going to make any quick judgments. To make up for the lack of vendors actually selling anything that came from a farm, there were a lot of pre-made food vendors, craftspeople (candles, t-shirts, etc), and plants. And, of course, lovely Ithacans.

I love farmer's markets and have been to them all over the country as Chris and I were doing our mad dash across this country. What's in season for you? What is showing up in your farmers' market stalls?

Farmers' Markets

Farmer's markets start popping up around spring time along with all of the greenery and flowers. They are another happy sign to the end of winter. The sequence/poses of the day come from Yoga, Dogs, and Chocolate blog in the post "The Rite of Spring." In it, a springtime Ayurvedic lifestyle is discussed, including spices, diet, and, yes, poses that are great for the springtime. So, head out to the farmer's markets for what's coming out of the ground, and then check out this lovely springtime article!
