Sleepy
Long, humid New Orleans day. Not much to say without my brain kaput-ing, so here's a sleepy-time practice that I very much look forward to passing out to.
Sleepy
This practice should help with insomnia, calming the mind, and relaxing the body. Forward folds in general are said to be relaxing. If this doesn't work for you, however, feeling like something makes other people chill out but not you probably doesn't help sleep patterns, so maybe you should go take a nice walk. Here's to deep, happy, stress free dreams.
- Sukhasana (Easy Pose)
- Nadi Shodna Pranayama (Alternate Nostril Breathing)
- Paschimottanasana (Seated Forward Fold)
- Baddha Konasana (Bound Angle)
- Forward fold in Bound Angle
- Supta Baddha Konasana (Reclined Bound Angle Pose) Note: use lots of bolsters in necessary, as with all poses
- Janu Sirsasana (Seated Head to Knee Pose). Repeat other side
- Setu Bandhasana (Gentle Bridge Pose)
- Salamba Sarvangasana (Supported Shoulderstand)
- Viparita Karani (Legs up the Wall Pose)
- Savasana (or Bed time!)
