Crane, Alligator, Bear, Casino

Driving through Cajun country, we saw a lot of what looked like cranes. In reality, I think that they are egrets, but "crane" works better for the post, as I haven't yet discovered "egret" pose (if you have any thoughts on what "egret pose" would look like, I take all suggestions).

We also saw some alligator looking character and an animal crossing sign that looked like a smallish bear, but with ears that stuck straight up in a pointy fashion. Finally, we entered Shrevesport, our destination for that evening, and saw casinos. More casinos than I have ever seen in one place (never having been to Vegas or Atlantic City). Let's see if the yoga sequence can follow the physical.

Crane, Alligator, Bear, Casino

In Kripalu yoga, Crane pose is not an equivalent to Crow Pose (Bakasana). Kripalu has an entirely different pose, a standing, balancing pose, called Balakikasana (I'm trying to spell as it's pronounced, but that spelling could be off). It looks like the Karate Kid pose: stand on one foot, raise the other leg (but keep the hips level). Bending the raised leg at the knee, raise the knee to a challenging height. Raise the arms to either side, with a bend at the elbow, like wings. Pretend you are the Karate Kid while maintaining balance.
