Yoga to Induce Labor

Yesterday, a lovely yogini a few days past her due date came to one of my yoga classes and requested yoga poses to induce labor (only a bit in jest). Turns out that moderate exercise, in general, can help induce labor. I taught a bunch of Malasana (Garland Pose) and Deviasana (Goddess Pose) variations and threw in side body stretches from Warrior II (Extended Side Angle and Peaceful Warrior Variations). The peak pose was Frog Pose, using a bolster, and a longer Baddha Konasana with bolster. Other poses included: open twists (as opposed to "closed" twists), Lizard Pose, Supta Baddha Konasana with lots of support, Cat/Flat for the spine, low lunge pulses, pelvic rocks, and a knee-down variation of Revolved Triangle Pose. And Savasana. Sweet, sweet savasana.
