Yoga Sequences for the Chakras: The Third Chakra
One chakra at a time, yogi, one chakra at a time.
We've made it to the third chakra and, wouldn't you guess it, three just happens to be my lucky number. Called the Manipura Chakra (meaning "lustrous jewel") the third chakra is centered around the navel and associated with fire, warrior spirit, and our ability to take chances. We feel butterflies in our stomach, enjoy deep belly laughs, and tie our stomach into knots. It's also related to self-esteem. For this sequence then, bring out your inner yogi warrior with some fired-up sun salutations, core strengtheners, and make time for positive affirmations.
