Eagle (Garundasana) variations

A quickie today. In class today we worked on eagle variations (among other things, given).

Here they are, best as can be described:

1. Eagle with option to bend at waist, taking elbows to the outside of the knee (folding in half). Come up with arms still bound. Unwind as you normally would.

2. Standing eagle legs, but hands in prayer position. If your left leg is on top, take right elbow to outside of left thigh, and twist to the left as you would in chair pose. Repeat on other side.

3. Repeat #2, but continue to floor to come into side crow variation with eagle legs. Jump back to chaturanga/8 limbed staff if you got it in you, but beware that you will probably jump off of your mat. Repeat other side.

4. There's also the infamous eagle crunches, oft repeated. Come onto your back with eagle arms and legs. Bring elbows to knees (or try), and then tap fingers and toes on floor above head (for fingers) and below bum (for feet). Draw in, tap out, draw in, tap out, etc.

5. Eagle twists. Arms are in "T" position. Legs are in eagle twist. If left leg is on top twist is to the right. Repeat other side.

Do you know any other eagle variations?
