Deep Sleep Sequence

Having trouble nodding off?... try this calming sequence, hold each pose for 5 to 10 minutes as always work both side evenly.


  1. Urdhva Hastasana (Upward Salute)
  2. Padangusthasana (Big Toe Pose)
  3. Tadasana (Mountain Pose)
  4. Bitilasana (Cow Pose)
  5. Marjaryasana (Cat Pose)
  6. Inhale cow, flow to cat, inhale and exhale for 5 to 10 minutes
  7. Uttana Shishosana (Extended Puppy Pose)
  8. Balasana (Child's Pose)
  9. Janu Sirsasana (Head-to-Knee Forward Bend)
  10. Bharadvajasana I (Bharadvaja's Twist)
  11. Agnistambhasana (Fire Log Pose)
  12. Baddha Konasana (Bound Angle Pose)
  13. Supta Baddha Konasana (Reclining Bound Angle Pose)
  14. Supta Virasana Reclining (Hero Pose) [note: use bolsters and pillows here for a more restorative pose]
  15. Viparita Karani (Legs-Up-the-Wall Pose)
  16. Surya Bhedana Pranayama (Single Nostril Breath)
  17. Dhyana Mantra Meditation [note: Select a favorite word, phrase, prayer, or fragment of a poem for meditation. Ideally, a mantra is composed of only a few words or syllables, so you can repeat it easily, without getting lost in a long phrase.]
